DESCRIPTION: A tiny pinkish uneven mass frequently found in large numbers this lichenicolous fungi is perhaps more common than thought. The mass consists of multicellular conidia, which are heiicoid and irregular in size. When viewed under the microscope there is a distinct similarity to a cluster of intertwining intestines I feel. SPORES: Conidia are approximately 17-30 urn x 11-20. HABITAT: On the lobes of various lichens. SEASON: Late summer to early winter.
